Spectacular video on the Hamburg Saint-Michel

Whether the famous Vienna Ferris wheel or the rocky edges on the Norwegian Lofoten. For the Beachvolley Vikings and world rankings nr.1 Anders Mol / Christian Sørum it can't be spectacular enough. In Hamburg they teamed up with the national team Victoria Bieneck / Isabel Schneider and put their skills to the test on the Hamburg Michel. The Vikings got a special kick outside of the platform. Hanging on safety ropes at the top of the Michal, they have shown once again why their feed is one of the best that the beach scene has to offer.

650 tickets available per day

Due to the corona pandemic, 650 tickets are currently available per day. So all fans should be quick if they want to be part of the biggest King of the Court event to date. However, an upward correction of the admitted audience numbers is considered likely and will be communicated accordingly. The German Volleyball Association (DVV) wants to take good care of its youth. In two DVV junior blocks, the tickets for everyone under the age of 18 and an accompanying person cost only EUR 15. In this way, all the stars of the future can experience the stars of the present up close. Tickets can be bought here.

80 international and national teams involved

The integration of King of the Court into an official beach volleyball series is a real world first. As part of the German tour, which consists of the “Qualifiers Timmendorfer Strand”, “King of the Court” and the German Beach Volleyball Championships in 2021, ranking points will be awarded for the first time in the KotC format. For the German teams, Hamburg is the last stop to get a ticket for the championships in Timmendorfer Strand from 2-5. September. The field of participants, which is also divided into two tournaments, is correspondingly large.

On the one hand, 40 international teams meet in an invitation tournament in the Hanseatic city. On the other hand, the German tour also includes 40 national duos, including the German national teams, who in turn play for ranking points, but also for their chance to participate in the international tournament. The three winners in the German tree automatically qualify for the semi-finals in the international tournament and could take home a double set of medals right away.

This is King of the Court

Originally a popular training game, King of the Court has now established itself as its own beach volleyball format. The court is divided into a winner and a challenger side, points can only be earned on the winning side. Instead of two, five duos are active at the same time, playing in an elimination race based on time. The break between rallies is limited to eight seconds. Overall, it makes the sport even faster and more action-packed. The Dutch agency Sportworx has been organizing official tournaments in the King of the Court format since 2017.
