Inaugural European Finals Queen & King of the Court starts in Utrecht

The CEV Queen & King of the Court European Finals 2022 have started on Tuesday next to the BetCity Arena on the Jaarbeursplein in Utrecht. It is the first European Finals for the spectacular and fast-growing beach volleyball variant. On Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 September, the qualification for the main tournament will be played. Spectators can come and watch the qualifiers for free, which are played on the side court in front of the stairs of the Central Station in Utrecht.

International top-level field
The European top teams have traveled to Utrecht for the first European titles of Queens and Kings of the Court. For example, the men’s world and Olympic champions, Norwegians Anders Mol and Christian Sørum, are present, as well as several Dutch top teams. The Swedish Åhman and Hellvig, who won in Utrecht last year, also make an appearance.

Among the women, the Dutch numbers 2 in the world, Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon, are the eye-catchers, along with the Queens of Hamburg, Pleun Ypma and Emi van Driel. There are also two Swiss top teams that managed to win the Nations Cup last month: Brunner/Hüberli and Bentele/Vergé-Dépré.

The event can be watched all throughout Europe. On Tuesday and Wednesday matches can be watched for free on CEV’s YouTube channel (@cevolleyball).
