Niterói, Rio de Janeiro replaces Itapema

The third stop on the King of the Court Crown Series 2022 has been moved to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. In a joint decision the city of Itapema, the Brazilian volleyball federation CBV and organiser Sportworx it was deemed better for beach volleyball to organize the tournament in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. The beaches of Praia de Icaraí oversee the Bay of Guanabara with the statue of Christ the Redeemer in the background.

King of the Court Rio will be held from 20 till 22 November, straight after the Brazilian national tour plays on Icaraí Beach. Per gender fifteen teams participate, with a large presence of Brazilian top players. The Niterói event will crown the first-ever Queens and Kings of the Court on the Southern Hemisphere.

A total amount of $ 28,000 is at stake. Spectators can come and watch the matches for free in the stadium. Fans who would want to follow the event from home can tune in to King of the Court TV.

The Crown Series tournament in Australia (1-4 December) has been postponed to 2023. Due to the pandemic Australia has been closed for a long time. To give more time for the organization, the tournament has been moved to 2023. On a later date we will inform you on the exact time and place.
