The top-4 teams in both the women’s and men’s side will start the hunt for the continental crowns as group heads. They are combined with teams from all different nations, as to provide the best distribution to guarantee top-level Queen & King of the Court action. Fifteen teams are already certain of their spot in the Group Stage, that starts on Wednesday September 7th. Five teams will come from qualification to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Men
Alexander Brouwer, who has played every King of the Court tournament so far (and won the test event in 2017) teams up with Hamburg King and regular partner Robert Meeuwsen once again, after having played the German tournament with Ruben Penninga and reaching a third place. They will face Austria’s Seidl/Waller, who eliminated them in EuroBeachVolley just over a week ago, and Norway’s Berntsen/Mol.

Group C has a dream line-up. Heading the group are World and Olympic champions Anders Mol and Christian Sørum, who are still hoping for a first win in a King of the Court event after ending in second place on three occasions. They face 2020 Utrecht Kings Marco Krattiger/Florian Breer and King of the Court legends Aleksandrs Samoilovs/Janis Smedins from Latvia.

Group B can be considered a real tough one as well. Czech’s Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner are silver medal winners from Munich, they’ll have to open against the team that defeated them in EuroBeachVolley’s final (and 2021 Utrecht Kings) David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig. Hamburg 2022 King Clemens Wickler and his partner Benedikt Sagstetter are also a force to be reckoned with. And the Dutch pairing of Van de Velde/Penninga makes Group B one to watch on Wednesday evening.

Hamburg’s silver medalists Kusti Nõlvak and Mart Tiisaar also face a Hamburg King. Clemens Wickler, who teams up with Benedikt Sagstetter, will try to make it two in-a-row. The new combo of Christiaan Varenhorst and Leon Luini is one of the dark horses present in Utrecht. With Krou/Gauthier-Rat from France and Huber/Dressler from Austria Group A is considered to be exciting as well.

Women
Dutch Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon headline the women’s event. They are World Number 2’s and bronze medal winners in recent CEV EuroBeachVolley. They will play in Group B, together with European champion Anastasija Kravcenoka, who forms a pair with 17-year-old Daniela Konstantinova. Czech Hermannova/Stochlova are also in the group, together with two teams from qualification.

EuroBeachVolley runners-up Nina Brunner and Tanja Hüberli from Switzerland lead Group A where they face 2021 Utrecht Queen Maria Belén Carro from Spain and Doha silver medalists Placette/Richard from France.

Germany’s Karla Borger and Julia Sude head Group C to be played on Thursday evening. They are up against Scampoli/Bianchin of Italy, Piersma/Van Driel from the Netherlands and Belgian champions Cools/Van den Vonder.

Thursday’s play is opened by Group D, with Menia Bentele and Anouk Vergé-Dépré from Switzerland, who are paired with two sets of Queens. The 2021 Doha Queens Sandra Ittlinger and Isabel Schneider and the Hamburg 2022 Queens Pleun Ypma and Emi van Driel from the Netherlands.
