Åhman & Hellvig and Helland-Hansen & Pavlova claim crowns at the largest QKOTC venue to date

The 2026 Queen & King of the Court Crown Series kicked off in style with its very first stop in Stockholm. After a thrilling day of competition, Swedish team Åhman & Hellvig and Norwegian pair Helland-Hansen & Pavlova were crowned the new Kings & Queens of Stockholm. With their fifth crown, Åhman & Hellvig set a new record, becoming the most successful players in the history of the format. With over 4,000 spectators and the world’s top teams competing, the opening tour stop of the 2026 season proved to be a spectacular success.

Scandinavian triumph at the women’s final
The women’s final kicked off at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena, the largest venue in Queen & King of the Court history. The Swedish home team Reffel & Thurin struggled early, remaining scoreless for a long stretch, but launched a late comeback to get back in the race. The tournament also saw a surprise when one of the favorites, the American duo Loreen & Quiggle, was eliminated in the first round. The Danish pair Bigaard & Roed Høg ended in fourth place. The final round was a tense fifteen-minute showdown. The teams were neck and neck for most of the game. In the last minutes, the Norwegian duo Helland-Hansen & Pavlova pulled off a final sprint. They scored fifteen points just seconds before time ran out, securing their victory and the title of Queens of Stockholm. For Helland-Hansen, it was her first-ever title after playing the format more than 15 times. For Pavlova, it was only her second time competing. The Finnish duo Prihti & Parkkinen took second place with six points, while the Swedish home team Reffel & Thurin finished third with five points.

Åhman & Hellvig claim historic fifth title
After the women’s final, the event continued with the men’s semifinals. Two teams from each semifinal advanced to the final, while one team received a wildcard from the organizers. Swedish fans got their first chance to see World Championship medalists Åhman & Hellvig and Hölting Nilsson & Andersson compete at home after their success in Australia. The top teams didn’t disappoint, securing their spots in the final alongside Mol & Sørum and Berger & Hammarberg. The Bello brothers received the wildcard, completing the lineup.

The Bello Brothers were eliminated in the first round of the final and had to settle for fifth place. In the second round, Andersson & Hölting Nilsson failed to find their rhythm and finished last, despite scoring the most points in the opening round of the final. The decisive third round belonged to Åhman & Hellvig. They reached fifteen points within ten minutes, while the other two teams were held to a single point each, earning them the Kings of Stockholm title. The Austrian team Berger & Hammarberg finished second, while Norway’s Mol & Sørum took third place. For the home crowd, it was a celebration to remember. This was not Åhman & Hellvig’s first Queen & King of the Court victory: with five crowns each, they are now the most successful players in the history of the format.
