With the first Queen & King of the Court event concluded in Miami Beach it’s high time to launch the official King of the Court Crown Series 2023, consisting of six major events. The Queen & King of the Court opener for the 2023 Crown Series on South Beach was an enormous success. In the rest of the season we’ll visit Hamburg, Germany, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, we’ll return to Brazil and the Crown Series Finals will once again be held in Doha, Qatar, in association with Aspire Zone and Qatar Volleyball Association. One event will be added to the calendar, information on that will follow.
Sportworx’s CEO Wilco Nijland is proud of the presented calendar. The Dutch-based company attaches much value to enter into multi-year contracts with the cities that organize Queen & King of the Court events. “Our aim is to build a relationship. We’d love to come back to Miami Beach every year, and perhaps add several other American cities to the Series. Same as we are doing with Hamburg, Brazil and Doha. We are still growing every year and the 2023 Crown Series are again one step up.”
The King of the Court Crown Series 2023
The Queen & King of the Court event in Miami Beach on iconic South Beach was a huge success. The stands were filled, and the local community embraced the game and gave us a North-American home. We saw high-level performances by the players, as they were spurred on by the enthusiastic crowds. Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes and Kusti Nõlvak and Mart Tiisaar were our deserving Queens and Kings of Miami Beach.
For the third year running Hamburg will host a Queen & King of the Court tournament. From May 25 till 28 the best of the best will travel once again to the harbor city on the Elbe River to fight for the titles of Queens and Kings of Hamburg. The Heiligengeistfeld is the ideal location for such a high-level event. This year we will move from the center of the square, more towards the side, next to the Reeperbahn area.
For the first time we'll organize Queen & King of the Court, The Royal Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This tournament will be larger than ever before, the best players in the world will come to ‘Manhattan on the Maas’ September 4-10. We'll build a royal stadium – to be used for several different sports – right in the city center on Henegouwerplein and five side-courts throughout the suburbs. Nijland: “We’ve had great success in building King of the Court in The Netherlands. This year we’ll take the game to the sport loving city of Rotterdam and for sure we will organize each coming year a QKotC event in our home country!
In November we’ll return to the beaches of Brazil. After the successful inaugural edition in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro the best players will once again battle for the crowns. A city has not been set yet, but we’ll announce in the upcoming period. “Brazil, same as the USA, is the place where beach volleyball has its roots. It’s essential we host a tournament there”, Nijland says.
The 2023 Crown Series will be concluded in Doha, Qatar for the third year in a row. We have built a grand partnership with the Aspire Zone, the sports services zone perfect for organizing top-level events. The Crown Series Finals will be held December 13-16.
One event will be added to the calendar, we’ll announce it later this year. Keep up with all the action on our OTT-platform watch.kingofthecourt.com, our website, and our social media.
