This weekend, Tilburg hosted the third stop of the National Series Queen & King of the Court – part of the BeNeTour where top Dutch and Belgian beach volleyball teams clash for national pride and podium spots. With packed stands and sunny conditions, the stage was set for another exciting chapter in this fast-paced format. At the end of the weekend, Bak/Gras and Van Hal/Van Werkhoven were crowned as the new Queens and Kings of Tilburg.
Saturday kicked off with the women’s tournament, where four Dutch teams and one Belgian pair made it through to the final. Belgian duo Van Hout/Bombeke held their ground impressively, breaking through to their first-ever BeNeTour podium with bronze after a narrow miss for second place. That silver went to Van der Made/Hödl, while Bak/Gras once again showed why they’re the team to beat. In full control throughout the weekend, they cruised through all rounds to claim another dominant victory.
On Sunday, it was the men’s turn. Dutch teams took charge early, with three of them reaching the final alongside two Belgian duos. The final showdown quickly became a two-horse race between the Vercauteren brothers from Belgium and the returning Dutch team of Van Hal and Van Werkhoven. Playing together again after a short break, Van Hal/Van Werkhoven looked sharp and coordinated, outperforming their opponents in all three rounds. The Belgians took silver with 11 points, while Hogenhout/Artamonov completed the podium with bronze.
The BeNeTour now heads to its final destination: Nieuwpoort, Belgium, on August 8. Everything is still on the line for the overall title!
