Just one more night until the big beach volleyball spectacle starts again in the Active City Arena! Sports fans are in for a treat at Heiligengeistfeld, where Germany’s best players will compete, alongside top international stars and rising talents from around the world.
Home heroes & farewell for a legend
German Olympians Ehlers & Wickler are back in Hamburg, aiming for their fourth King of the Court title. Ranked #6 in the world, they’ll have the home crowd firmly behind them. This edition also marks the final German appearance for Latvian beach volleyball icon Aleksandrs Samoilovs, playing alongside Tocs before retiring at the end of the season.
Crown contenders to watch
The field is packed with contenders: European champions Plavins & Fokerots are chasing another title, while Chilean cousins Esteban & Marco Grimalt hope to finally claim the crown after two silver finishes. World champion and Olympic medalist Alexander Brouwer teams up again with Van de Velde. With 16 QKOTC appearances, Brouwer holds the all-time record and is still chasing his first title. Miami Beach silver medalists Logan Webber and Hagen Smith return with a score to settle after a tough early exit last time.
Women’s Field
On the women’s side, all eyes are on Latvian star Tina Graudina, former European Champion and Olympic 4th place finisher, teaming up with rising talent Liva Ebere. Two-time QKOTC bronze medalist Corinne Quiggle is back with new partner Megan Rice, aiming to become the third American team in a row to win in Hamburg. Also in the mix: Placette & Richard, they’re ready to chase the crown in Germany’s beach volleyball capital.
